Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is individualized and grounded in understanding you as a whole person—your mind, body, patterns, and environment. Rather than a one-size-fits-all solution, I draw from evidence-based approaches I’m trained in and apply them within a clear, intentional framework that’s tailored to your specific needs and goals. The focus is on helping you move beyond short-term coping and toward meaningful, lasting change. Below are a few of the approaches I often incorporate:

RELATIONAL THERAPY & ATTACHMENT THEORY

Through a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship, we work to understand patterns and build more secure ways of relating to yourself and others. Attachment therapy focuses on how early connections shape the way you relate, trust, and navigate emotions in your current life.

EXPOSURE & RESPONSE PREVENTION (ERP)

Guides you in gradually facing feared thoughts, situations, or sensations without relying on avoidance or compulsions. Over time, this retrains your brain to tolerate uncertainty, reduce overthinking, and break the cycles that maintain distress. Gold standard treatment for OCD and other anxiety related disorders.

ACCEPTANCE & COMMITMENT THERAPY (ACT)

Helps you develop psychological flexibility by learning to relate differently to your thoughts and emotions rather than fighting them. Using mindfulness and values-based action, ACT supports you in creating a meaningful life aligned with what truly matters, even in the presence of discomfort.

SOMATIC BASED THERAPY & MINDFULLNESS

Focus on connecting awareness of the body, breath, and present-moment experience to emotional patterns. You’ll learn to be an observer rather than reactive, helping to release tension, regulate emotions, and build calm presence and self-understanding.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT)

Focuses on how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, and how unhelpful patterns can keep you feeling stuck. Through practical, evidence-based strategies, CBT helps you shift negative thinking and build healthier habits to improve mood and reduce anxiety.

SCHEMA THERAPY & PARTS WORK

Focuses on identifying and understanding deeply held patterns and beliefs that often develop to protect us but can keep us feeling stuck. By exploring and working with different parts of yourself, therapy helps heal underlying wounds, meet unmet emotional needs, shift unhelpful patterns, and build a more integrated and balanced sense of self.

FOUNDER

Leslie Head, LMHC

Being a therapist is a meaningful part of who I am, because I get to witness the growth, strength, and resilience in every person I work with. My style is warm, relational, and practical. Each session blends meaningful conversation with actionable, research-backed strategies. I aim to challenge you, laugh with you, and be your biggest cheerleader in a supportive, safe space where lasting growth happens both in and outside of our sessions. I have a graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College and clinical experience working with both collegiate and professional athletes, high-achieving teens, young adults, and individuals in intensive outpatient, partial hospital and community mental health programs. My background as a corporate professional, athlete, executive functioning coach, yoga teacher, and Christian allows me to approach therapy from multiple perspectives. I offer holistic, practical, and culturally aware support and strategies that can be adapted to each client’s unique journey and goals.
