Practice Policies:
Confidentiality Policy
All sessions are confidential in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Massachusetts law. Exceptions are rare and typically occur only if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or in cases of suspected abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult. Confidentiality may also be limited if required by court order or as part of insurance billing processes. Therapists may also consult with other professionals for clinical purposes. In these cases, identifying information is not shared.
For secure communication, clients are encouraged to use the messaging system within SimplePractice, which is HIPAA-compliant. Email communication is not a substitute for therapy sessions.
If you are experiencing a clinical emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital immediately.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 24 business hours’ notice (excluding weekends and holidays). Sessions canceled with less than this notice, or missed appointments, will be subject to a late cancellation fee equal to the full session cost.
This policy helps support consistency in your care and allows that time to be offered to others in need.
Emergency & Crisis Support
This practice is not able to provide emergency or crisis services. If you are a current client, we will review emergency planning and appropriate supports as part of your care.
If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
For mental health support, you can also reach out to the following resources:
988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline – Dial 988 (available 24/7)
Massachusetts Substance Use Helpline – 1-800-327-5050
Massachusetts Youth Crisis Hotline – 1-888-509-4357
If you do not receive a timely response and your need is urgent, please use the emergency resources listed above. Please do not rely on email or messaging platforms (including the client portal) for urgent or emergency needs, as these are not monitored at all times.
Communication & Response Time
Messages are typically responded to within 24–48 business hours. Communication outside of scheduled sessions is intended for administrative purposes and not for ongoing therapy.
Scope of Services
Therapy services are provided within scheduled sessions. Communication outside of sessions is not a substitute for therapy and is limited in scope.
Fees & Payment
Session fees and payment details will be reviewed prior to the start of treatment. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.
Clients are responsible for any fees not covered by insurance, including late cancellation or no-show fees. If using out-of-network benefits, clients are responsible for understanding and managing their insurance reimbursement.
Telehealth & Location
Services are provided to clients who are physically located in Massachusetts at the time of each session.
No Therapist-Client Relationship
Use of this website, including submitting a contact form or sending an email, does not establish a therapist-client relationship.
A therapeutic relationship is only established after an initial intake process, completion of required consent forms, and mutual agreement to begin treatment.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining the expected cost of your care. This will be provided prior to or at the start of services. You may also request an estimate at any time.
